jp.ik Unveils Project EnsinAI: An AI-Powered Laptop Designed for Teachers

Porto, Portugal – 1 July 2026 – jp.ik today announced the latest developments of EnsinAI, an innovative research and development project focused on creating an Artificial Intelligence-powered laptop specifically designed to support teachers in their daily work.

The EnsinAI project is being developed under the Portugal 2030 framework, through the Research and Development Incentive System, reinforcing jp.ik’s commitment to innovation in Artificial Intelligence and Educational Technology. The project aims to advance the development of a new generation of AI-enabled educational devices designed to support teachers and improve learning experiences.

Developed with education at its core, EnsinAI combines advanced hardware, software and AI technologies to help teachers streamline administrative tasks, prepare lessons more efficiently, support assessment processes and create educational content. By reducing time spent on repetitive activities, the solution aims to give educators more time to focus on what matters most: teaching and supporting students.

Unlike many AI solutions currently available on the market, EnsinAI is being designed to perform key AI workloads locally on the device, enhancing privacy, reducing dependency on internet connectivity and ensuring faster response times.

The project reflects jp.ik’s long-standing commitment to educational innovation and its mission to use technology as a catalyst for more inclusive, equitable and sustainable learning opportunities worldwide.

“Artificial Intelligence has the potential to transform education, but only if it is designed around the real needs of teachers,” said Jorge Castilho, Product and Solutions Director at jp.ik. “With EnsinAI, we are developing a solution that combines the latest advances in AI with our extensive experience in educational technology. Our goal is simple: help teachers save time, reduce administrative burden and create more meaningful learning experiences for their students.”

According to Inês Mendes, Educational Specialist at jp.ik, the pedagogical dimension has been a central pillar of the project.

“Technology should empower teachers, not replace them,” said Inês Mendes. “Throughout this project, we have focused on understanding the daily challenges educators face and identifying where AI can provide genuine support. EnsinAI is being designed to strengthen teachers’ capacity to personalise learning, create engaging content and dedicate more attention to each student.”

Currently under development, EnsinAI represents another step in jp.ik’s ongoing investment in research, innovation and educational transformation. The company expects the project to contribute to shaping the next generation of AI-enabled educational devices and solutions.
