Challenge
Education in Angola has been positioning itself vis-à-vis major development themes of the Angola society, seeking to act both on the levels of potential efficiency of production, and on the resolution of problems associated with the sectors of public health and the environment. It is in this context that new technologies are designed, as a key resource starting in the early years of training of Angolan students.
The inclusion of technology, information, and communication in education in Angola marks another moment of transition in the Education and Teaching System, with the integration of new digital tools that have provided a new way of teaching, a new way of learning, and new ways of managing administrative processes. of new digital tools that have provided a new teaching, a new learning, and new ways to manage the administrative processes.
Context
The Ministry of Education (MED), through the program “MEU KAMBA” launched in 2014 by Minister Pinda Simão, has sought to promote access to new technologies starting in primary education, establishing teacher training as an organization axis of this action. It is an initiative of the Government of Angola, integrated in the National Plan for the Information Society 2013-2017, in partnership with a private company for its execution.
Through the National Institute for Innovation and Development of Education and the Office of Studies, Planning and Statistics, the Ministry of Education has sought to participate actively in defining the main objectives of a training that would frame technologies in progressively more challenging learning environments.
Currently updated for 2018-2022, the project was intended to integrate IT equipment, namely computers cabinets, routers, servers, interactive whiteboards, projectors, among other resources, in public schools, in the Primary Education Subsystem, in all provinces and in a phased manner. This project was born from the perspective of facilitate access to education – a more inclusive education – by means of technology, especially in the most remote places, that is, for the neediest people.
Meu Kamba Project and ik-learning training
jp.ik’s professional services, through its training department ik-Learning has so far held 11 training sessions, a deliberate and integrated strategy of teacher preparation.
Main Objectives:
- To lead to the professional development of Angola’s faculty, through the introduction of technological resources that imply a revision of pedagogical practices.
- Provide increased literacy in the country, by contributing to the use of technology for accessing significant information.
Training targets and strategy:
- Training by Layers:
– 1st Instance: 8 elements of the Ministry of Education for Supervising the entire Training and Implementation Process.
– 2nd Instance: 600 teachers of grades 1 to 6, of which 122 (from the province of Luanda, Namibe, Cuando Cubango) have already received training.

By the end of the training: Development of lesson plans using the new digital tools. New methodologies and practices to stimulate learning. In the schools: Implementation of lessons digital environments. Knowledge of a variety of resources for strengthening Portuguese and Mathematics. Training other teachers.
