DEVICES BUILT TO LAST

Environmental impact

For jp.ik, sustainability is a key part of its mission, which is reflected in the integration of eco-design guidelines into the development and production of its products, reducing pollution and its overall impact on the environment.

jp.ik has an ongoing commitment to maximize products’ life, minimize waste, use more renewable resources, improve durability, reliability, reusability, repairability, ease of maintenance, product reconditioning and recyclability of its devices, in line with the sustainable growth agenda of the European Green Deal and its internal policies.

To fulfill this commitment, jp.ik promotes the following principles in its products:

Inclusion of techniques and materials that allow for their repairability, such as:

Connections between modules through connectors rather than direct welding;
Wide network of certified and qualified technical centers;
Elimination whenever possible of gluing or fusions between parts;
Non-destructive opening of equipment;
Easy access to replacement of consumable components, such as batteries;
Use of standard and common support tools in the market;
Availability of instructive technical information on how to repair;
Availability of spare parts during their entire life cycle;
Application of tools and techniques that allow easy maintenance of software, including remote accessibility;
Interoperability of components.

LONG USAGE

Products are consciously built

Our products are built with the robustness to withstand the greatest challenges students may throw at them, from resistance to drops, liquid spills and dust ingression, stronger doors and hinges, an exterior texture that prevents scratches, touch screens with resistance to impacts and scratches, resistant keyboards with hard to remove keys, etc. In addition, all the components of our devices are made to be exchangeable, this means that the device can be repaired at a fair cost, without having to exchange components that do not need to be exchanged.

Repairability

Take-back
& End-of-Life

For all of our efforts eventually a product will be outdated and reach the end of it’s lifecycle, in such cases we offer a take-back service which is based on the European Recycling Program, a joint collection scheme for WEEE.
All of jp.ik products are designed to be easily processed in their end-of-life, for this any equipment components that might require selective treatment are easily accessible in the equipment specific page.

In Portugal our take back service and end of life processing is upheld through recycling with:
