<p>In this edition of Bett 2024, jp.ik will present a new education solution: <strong>Digital Education Labs.</strong> The ik Digital Labs are learning spaces designed to stimulate interaction between students and make them the protagonists of the process. It has tools such as computers, a 3D printer, a laser cutter, drill, and robotics kits, which can be tested in our booth.</p>
<p>Students are stimulated to test hypotheses and to develop projects with the aim of proving them &#8211; whether it’s understanding the process of an electric current, or creating a robot, from paper to prototypes, towards the development of digital skills.</p>
<p>This initiative was born from the close collaboration between teachers, students, pedagogues, and EdTech Specialists to cover the way for Governments and Public institutions, as well as every single stakeholder to develop Digital skills of school-age citizens or working population.</p>

<p>In underprivileged countries, the benefits of digital education are more evident than in privileged ones. But to implement this model is also much more difficult. More often than not, companies and institutions have a crucial role in helping States all over the world meet these standards. This is why<em><span style="color: #000000;"> Intel, <a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.jpik.com/">jp.ik</a>, Millennium@EDU and <a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.alecso.org/elearning/en">ALECSO</a> decided to act.</span></em></p>
<p><strong>Since the first half of 2021, <span style="color: #000000;"><em>Intel, <a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.jpik.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">jp.ik</a>, Millennium@EDU and ALECSO</em></span> have joined forces by giving out more than 4.000 student devices and almost 100 teacher devices to Djibouti</strong>. These four institutions are not only equipping students and teachers in the aforementioned country with technology especially designed for education, but they&#8217;re also training teachers and technicians to adapt to a more sustainable model of education.<br />
<span style="color: #000000;"><em>Intel,  <a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.jpik.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>jp.ik</strong></a>,  Millennium@EDU and ALECSO </em></span>believe that creating a more responsible, inclusive and sustainable world, enabled through technology and collective actions, can change the world.</p>
<p>Jorge Sá Couto, Chairman at <strong>jp.ik</strong>, states that <em>theres no doubt that digital transition transforms our society and economy, but what truly drives<strong> jp.ik</strong> is the impact that education especially digital education can have in these young peoples lives. We want every student to have access to and train for whatever they want, regardless of the country theyre from in particular young women who, many times, face added steps to achieve equal treatment and opportunities.</em></p>
<p>Mário Franco, Founder &amp; Chairperson at <strong>Millennium@EDU SUSTAINABLE EDUCATION</strong>, states that <em>Millennium@EDU SUSTAINABLE EDUCATION is committed to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly, in getting results and achievements related to SDG4 Quality Education, in specific targets, namely Target 4.4 Technical and vocational skills &#8211;  By 2030, substantially increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship and Target 4.a School Environment Build and upgrade education facilities that are child, disability and gender sensitive and provide safe, non-violent, inclusive and effective learning environments for al Electricity Internet Computers, each measured by the respective SDGs Indicators 4.4.1 and 4.a.1. which present Data that makes visible those who are most vulnerable.<br />
Millennium@EDU SUSTAINABLE EDUCATION is extremely honored and humbled to be part of this Project which steers countries towards achieving their targets.</em></p>
<p>H.E. Prof. Mohamed Ould Amar, the General Director of <strong>ALECSO</strong>, states that since the outbreak of COVID-19, ALECSO has mobilized all its technical capabilities to contribute to tackling the impact of this pandemic. It has launched several initiatives, including its e-learning initiative in response to school closure and education disruption in the Arab countries. It has worked, jointly with its partners, to provide the latest online platforms and digital environments for Arab education ministries and institutions, to be used for online learning/education purposes. It has also held specialized training courses for Arab teachers on how to operate the educational platforms provided through this initiative, how to use e-learning tools, and how to design digital educational contents and make them available on the web.</p>
<p>He added that ALECSO is pleased to cooperate with its distinguished partners, Millennium@EDU SUSTAINABLE and<strong> jp.ik</strong> Inspiring Knowledge, for the implementation of an initiative to donate computer devices to Mauritania, the Comoros and Djibouti, with a view to supporting their efforts in tackling the impact of the pandemic through the use of modern e-learning tools and systems.<br />
Also, Prof. Mohamed Jemni, the Director of ICT at ALECSO states that this project creates a distinctive opportunity for many students, especially poor students, to benefit and practice online education in these countries.</p>

And most importantly, most learners do not graduate desiring to inspire and contribute to human development and global growth.</div>
<div>Traditional learning curricula have remained the same for centuries now, and we keep focused on an emphasis on short-term grades and individual academic performance.</div>
<div>The question we are all eager to answer is: how can we effectively educate future generations? However, answering this question means substantial changes of the educational paradigm and it also means shifting how we define education itself to start with.</div>

<div>The confluence between education and technology is already in motion and within this scenario we can expect that<strong> technology will bring forward some philosophical shifts in education</strong>, but it can also enhance networking, collaborative work and research. If we go back in History for a bit, we realize that the waiting time between inventions is no longer centuries or decades. Transformation is amazingly fast.</div>

<div>Let us share a glimpse of the opportunities of collaborative research, work and learning. In 2011, a Stanford University Teacher offered a free online course in artificial intelligence. That online course reached <strong>160 000 students from 190 countries and he was over the moon</strong>. This is only one example of how technology is reshaping the learning experience.</div>

<div>Undoubtedly technology is here and is reshaping the learning experience by transforming the dynamics of education, especially the relationship between teachers and students. As teachers are bringing technology into the learning experience to replace conservative teaching/ learning models, <strong>learning is evolving into a more personalized path paved with self-directed learners experiences.</strong></div>
<div>Teachers are also increasingly experimenting gamification, which is a teaching resource that engages students by challenging them to complete work in order to reach a new level just like it happens when they are playing a videogame.</div>
<div>At this point, something appears to be very clear to all of us, even when we bring technology into the classroom and the learning experience, <strong>teachers will be important as ever.</strong></div>

<div>Technology is important! We all agree, right? Nevertheless, within the scope of the learning experience and the shifting of the education paradigm, technology is fundamental as a means to an end. Teachers, if they are given the freedom to change, they will be ambassadors of the revolution of education (and the reshaping of its paradigm).</div>
<div>We are thriving to build the best places for education, which will perform as collaborative spheres to gather people, technology and space in the most disruptive ways.</div>

<div>Finally, and still in the context of reshaping the learning experience, and ultimately the education paradigm, we should comprehend education as an instrument for individual growth, as well as for driving our transformation as a group a civilizational change.</div>
<div>Mark Prensky, Education Speaker and Author, advocates civilization-level change in global education, highlighting most of us have an outdated point-of-view about what education means and what it is supposed to do.</div>
<div>Education should inspire, engage and empower young minds with the needed instruments to contribute to human growth.</div>
<div>The diversity of technological tools can be powerful, and it is important to acknowledge that they can be used to better or worsen society. As Mark Prensky points out our civilization is now in the process of changing and those places in the world that take quick and appropriate action towards implementing a new educational paradigm will be the ones where children prosper and flourish in the future. And the regions that do not do it will fall behind on the path to human progress.</div>

<div>In the contemporary world, the mission of education relies on empower learners brains with information. This means <strong>it is fundamental to guide students to learn how to learn, to learn, to think, to critically evaluate a situation and to solve it.</strong></div>

So, UNICEF Nigeria created an animation â€œLara and Friends COVID-19 adventureâ€ to disseminate information to children on how to stay safe and protect their loved ones.</p>
