jp.ik obtains SA8000 Certification and reinforces its commitment to responsible working practices
The international certification recognises the company’s commitment to human rights, decent working conditions, safety, inclusion and continuous improvement.
Perafita, 21 August 2026 – jp.ik announces that it has obtained SA8000 Certification, an internationally recognised standard in the field of social responsibility and responsible working practices.
The certification recognises the company’s commitment to adopting and maintaining ethical and fair labour practices, including respect for human rights, the promotion of safe and healthy working conditions, and the value placed on people.
“Achieving SA8000 certification is particularly important to us because it translates into concrete, internationally recognised criteria the principles we want to be part of the experience of working at jp.ik: respect, integrity, inclusion and responsible working conditions. It is also an ongoing commitment, as it requires us to assess, listen, improve and ensure that these principles remain embedded in the way we work and evolve as an organisation,” says Madalena Sá, People Director at jp.ik.
The certification is the result of a process developed over recent months, involving different areas and teams across the organisation and an assessment of the practices and processes associated with social responsibility in the workplace.
For jp.ik, the certification represents not only recognition of the work already undertaken, but also a framework to continue strengthening its organisational culture and promoting a continuous improvement approach.
“A company is built through its people. That is why, rather than viewing this certification as a final destination, we see SA8000 as another important step in the work we want to continue developing. Our goal is to create an environment where people feel respected, valued and actively involved in the company’s evolution,” adds Madalena Sá.
SA8000 certification also reinforces the Social Pillar of jp.ik’s sustainability strategy, complementing the work the company has been developing across the environmental, social and governance dimensions.
This new milestone follows the publication, in July 2026, of jp.ik’s first Sustainability Report, covering the 2025 financial year and prepared in accordance with the Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for non-listed SMEs (VSME). The report established a baseline for monitoring the organisation’s ESG performance and progressively integrating sustainability into its strategy, operations and decision-making processes.
By obtaining SA8000 certification, jp.ik takes another step towards consolidating this approach, reinforcing its commitment to conducting its business responsibly and sustainably, while placing people at the heart of the organisation’s development.
