From 15 to 17 September the 2nd edition of MENA Innovation 2019 was held in Muscat, the capital of Oman, which integrates the avant-garde of modernity with the Heritage of History dating back to Ancient times.

jp.ik participated at this event, taking advantage of the event’s format based on previously scheduled work meetings with the participating ministerial agents of the region to share the accumulated experience in the context of the implementation of large ICT-based education projects.

Supported by the Minister of Higher Education, Her Excellency Dr. Rawya Saud Albuasaidi, this 2nd edition of MENA Innovation has consolidated the commitment to digital transformation and Skills Development.

For Jerónimo Silva, Regional Business Manager for Middle East Northern Africa and Asia, who represented jp.ik at the 2nd edition of MENA 2019, this was an event “full of energy and opportunities to showcase our experience and the new challenges for us and for the technology in education” and he adds that “were three intense days of collaboration, discussion and ideas for the development of the Middle East and North Africa region”.

This Ministerial Forum dedicated to technology for education, promoted the gathering between governmental agents from Education and ICT and industry, thus presenting itself as an excellent opportunity for working meetings and sharing in the segments of Education, Technology Information and Communication and Innovation.

To the Secretary of Omani Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al Sarmi, “we have and must continue to leverage the talents and feed the dreams of our human capital. That means giving priority to the ambitions and needs of the next generations of Oman”.

For John Glassey, ArabBrains CEO and coordinator of this event, “MENA Innovation is more than a regional event. It is a reference to the shared commitment across the Middle East and North Africa to drive digital transformation and digital skills development from the classroom to the meeting room”.
